Project MUSE Participates in AMICAL
Project MUSE was proud to be a sponsor of AMICAL’s annual conference, held last week in Rome. AMICAL is a consortium of 25 American-style universities, all located outside the United States. While this year’s conference was held at the American University of Rome, other member universities are located in countries like Nigeria, Armenia, France, and Russia.
AMICAL’s mission is to “advance teaching, learning, and research through the collaborative development of library and information services,” and their annual conference reflected these goals. Librarians, university administrators, IT managers, and teaching faculty from all 25 member universities attended the conference last week. Project MUSE traveled to Italy to attend the AMICAL conference and participate in two EBSCO open days, in Milan and Rome. The EBSCO open days introduced librarians to publishers and their products.
MUSE enjoyed meeting current and potential customers, and letting everyone know the latest at Project MUSE. International Sales Manager Ann Snoeyenbos noted, “It was fascinating to see the unique bond between the AMICAL members, who are all at American institutions scattered around the world.” Although we’re only five months in to 2016, Project MUSE has already traveled overseas to Australia, the United Kingdom, and Italy. We’re committed to our international customers, and value hearing what we can do to make MUSE even better for them!
